Presentation Activities
2014 saw a major exhibition cycle of the National Museum titled Money, including the main exhibition project in the National Museum New Building and an exhibition project “Age of Discovery” in Náprstek Museum of asian, african and american cultures or the launch of an exhibition titled “Music and Politics” in the National Memorial on the Vítkov Hill. In 2014, the exhibition policy of the National Museum was limited by partial reconstruction of the National Museum New Building and by the closing of the Main (Historical) Building. In spite of this, the Museum continued to carry out its active exhibition policy. A new exhibition cycle involving all Museum facilities was prepared under the umbrella name of “Death” and two presentations of this cycle were opened in 2014. The National Museum also continued its cooperation with foreign institutions and went on with the preparation of presentations. The most important one was probably the presentation of the autograph of Antonín Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 “From the New World” in New York in November 2014 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Iron Curtain with the participation of the highest state representatives of the Czech Republic.
