The Náprstek Museum of Asian, African and American Cultures

2014 was a successful year for Náprstek Museum. Three building investment projects were implemented; the main exhibitions programme was named “Window to the World”, educational and leisure activities for visitors was extended under the name of “Colourful Courtyard”; this also helped to increase the number of visitors by more than 50% compared to 2013. Two new foreign exhibitions were prepared: “Land of the Black Pharaohs" and “Azerbaijan – A Magic Land of Fire”. An exhibition Death Rituals was opened within the DEATH exhibition cycle. Náprstek museum got 780 additions to our collection, 11 scientific goals were achieved, two internal grants were successfully defended and two research teams worked on scientific tasks supported by the Czech Science Foundation. The journal Annals of the Náprstek Museum was published in two volumes; 5 publications came out. Foreign archaeological research was successfully going on in the Republic of Sudan.
